With The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band (TH)

The members of the Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band were born between 1941 and 1990. Starting out as a series of parties and live-club in the Thai capital, today the six-strong live band wows an international audience from Glastonbury to Boiler Room with their interpretation of mor lam: a traditional style from Laos and the Isan region in north-eastern Thailand. The band translates this mor lam, spiced with a touch of psychedelic rock and Thai pop from the 1960s and 70s, into the 21st century. Incidentally, the group’s percussionist is Chris Menist, who left his mark on a lot of people’s muscle memory with an outstanding DJ set at last year’s closing party at club panamur.
