Between grand piano and synthesiser, vibraphone and organ, drums and guitar, Cologne Tape create abstract musical force fields.
With Cologne Tape (DE)
“Welt” is the title of the second release from the supergroup Cologne Tape, born of an attempt to incorporate all of the instruments in the studio into their recordings. Since 2010, the nine musicians based between Hamburg, Cologne and Berlin (otherwise involved in such projects as Barnt, Von Spar, Battles and The Field) have been creating a relationship between their tools and their surroundings. Whenever they meet up sporadically, they spread out an open acoustic panorama of Krautrock rhythms, cosmic analog synthesiser sounds, eruptive acoustic experiments, and a touch of house. Between grand piano and synthesiser, vibraphone and organ, drums and guitar, they create abstract force fields whose hypnotic effect is hard to escape.
